about
Having recently gone through a breakup, I have spent a lot of time thinking about the idea of 'timing' and how it affects relationships and love. In my perfect romantic world, I'd like to think people just leap when they really love someone.
I think we all want to know that the person we love could do anything for us, and vice versa. This song is about that. I hope you like it - it's dear to my heart. It's the first song I've ever written on guitar, and I wanted the mistakes in the playing to echo the vulnerability of asking someone to take a leap of faith with you.
lyrics
ANYWHERE
You knew, I couldn't stay
Soon, I'd be on my way
A new adventure for me
Spinning through the open air of the country
I'm sorry I'm so restless
But that's what you love 'bout me best
So now, for you, one small request
Don't even think, just say yes.
If I went to Hawaii, would you swim all the oceans with me?
If I went to Alaska, would you climb all the icebergs with me?
And if I went to California, would you drive all of route one with me?
And if I went, anywhere, would you come with me?
You knew, there'd be much more to see
Places I'd want you to share with me
Across the ocean so vast we'd ride
Just take my hand, and we'll trace this land.
If I went to Iceland, would you gaze all the bright lights with me?
If I went to Malaysia, would you sail all the islands with me?
And if I went to Antarctica, would you sleep in an igloo with me?
And if I went, anywhere, would you come with me?
